What to Choose

WRSLP offers families traditional evaluation and therapy as well as a variety of group programs and school-based interventions.  If you are not sure what services are right for your child, contact us and we can provide some recommendations.


WRSLP Services
We evaluate and treat most pediatric delays and disorders.

We provide full evaluation and individual therapy services in the following areas:

  • Articulation and phonology
  • Phonological awareness
  • Stuttering/fluency
  • Oral language delays and disorders
  • Auditory processing
  • Early reading skills (decoding)
  • Reading comprehension
  • Written expression
  • Memory and learning
  • Study skills
  • Social communication

Group Programs
All group programs are by invitation only.  We use a “screen and place” system to ensure that children are a good match for the groups they would like to join. Current group programs include the following:

  • Table Games
  • High School Social Skills Group

School-based Services

WRSLP speech-language pathologists provide children with individual and group therapy services in independent schools.  Fees for these services are covered by insurance providers, public school districts, the Ohio Department of Education’s Autism Scholarship Program and Jon Peterson Special Needs Program, and direct payments from families.  For more information about these services for your child, please contact us (440.285.0775).

Table Games

Designed to give children and adolescents the opportunity to:

  • interact with peers while playing non-electronic (i.e., face-to-face) games in a safe and well-supervised environment outside of home and school, and  
  • experience the intrinsic satisfaction that comes from participating successfully in leisure activities with others.

Children and adolescents ages 5-18 years are invited to attend.  Participants are grouped according to age and ability.  Adult staff teach games and coach children who need assistance.

When: 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on select Saturdays:

September 12, September 26,
October 3, October 10, October 17, and October 24.

Where: WRSLP LLC is located at 100 Seventh Ave., Ste. 255, Chardon, Ohio 44024.

Who: Attendees include (1)  children ages 5 to 17 years who are current or former clients of WRSLP and (2) peer models. The children are grouped by age and ability level.   Ms. Theofrastous and WRSLP staff supervise all activities. 

Cost: The cost per child is a non-refundable, self-pay flat fee of $60Fees will not be filed with insurance carriers.  Upon request from JPSN and ASP families, WRSLP will bill the Ohio Department of Education.

High School Social Skills Group

Targeted skills include:  fundamentals of conversation, conversational self-regulation, friendship-building, and nonverbal communication. 

When:  TBA for Fall 2015

Where: WRSLP is located at 100 7th Ave., Ste. 255 Chardon, OH 44024 .

Who:  High school students with social communication disorders

Clinician: Speech-language pathologist Nancy Theofrastous, MA, CCC-SLP

Cost: Depends on enrollment.
